Do American Christians Have the Courage of the Kenya 147? April 13, 2015

Like many of you, sometimes I hate watching the news. So many horrific stories have become commonplace, but we can’t shut our eyes to them.

Did you see this?

A terrorist group in Kenya called al-Shabab killed almost 150 college students earlier this month. They went into Garissa University early in the morning and searched the dorms room-by-room, asking who was a Christian. Any Muslims, they let go. If anyone said they were a Christian, they were shot.

Students told reporters about fleeing for their lives in utter confusion. Some ran to a field on campus, then jumped the fence when they continued to hear gunfire. Many students were missing after the attack, too afraid to return.

After a 15-hour standoff with Kenyan police forces, four gunmen from al-Shabab were killed. They had holed themselves up in a dorm with hostages. They must have been armed with explosives too, because the Minister of the Interior Joseph Nkaissery said they exploded “like bombs” when the police shot them. God knows what else they had planned.
