Trump: Blacks will like me better than Obama

Trump: Blacks will like me better than Obama January 27, 2016

Trump’s bold statements never fail to catch the media’s eye — but unlike many other candidates — his comments almost always ring true.

Howard Kurtz, reporting for Fox News, shares his recent interview with Mr. Trump:

In an interview airing Sunday on Fox’s “Media Buzz,” Trump told me there is already great affection for him in the black community.

“Look, the African Americans love me because they know I am going to bring back jobs,” he told me at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.

Okay, a pretty standard Trumpian boast. But then he said this:

“They are going to like me better than they like Obama. The truth is Obama has done nothing for them.”

The statement was so audacious that it took me a split-second to react.

“Did you just say,” I interrupted, “African-Americans are going to like you better than the first African-American president.”

The billionaire didn’t back off.

“I think that relatively speaking – I mean he does have a slight advantage in all fairness- but I think relatively speaking when I am finished I think they will absolutely love Donald Trump,” he said.

And they should. Obama used his race as a vote ticket — conjuring support he did not really earn. Trump is right when he says that Obama has done nothing for the African-American community. Unlike Obama, he does not make promises he will be unable to keep. Instead, he provides viable solutions for the mess Obama and his administration have created.

Trump rattles off truth like it’s second nature, and for some people, this can be a little hard to swallow. (Personally, I find his candor refreshing.) As Clinton digs herself deeper into her pit of lies, Trump builds his campaign on much needed fact.

Black communities of this country need someone who is willing to fight for them — something a president of their own race was unable to do. Trump is fighting to defend and restore the rights of American citizens — not black, white, Hispanic or Asian citizens — but the American people as a whole.  He even actually went into black communities to talk to pastors to help him understand what and how to DO what will bring opportunity and change.

While Obama has done nothing but segregate us further, Trump is aiming to once again unify our nation.

“One nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for ALL.”
