First Annual Holy Land Festival at D.C. Monastery… July 5, 2014

… The Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in Washington, DC will host it’s first annual Holy Land Festival.

The first annual Holy Land Festival will kick off at the Monastery on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. and will run until 5 p.m.

The Festival It will celebrate and highlight the lives and culture of Christians in the Holy Land with exhibits, vendors, Mediterranean food, speakers, videos and tours of the Holy Land shrines. There will be display tables and vendors featuring olive oil, olive wood carvings and other items from the Holy Land.

The Holy Land Festival is just one of the many stops on “Faith Quest.“

The closing Mass, with Bishop Barry Knestout as lead celebrant, will conclude the festivities at the Monastery beginning at 5 p.m.

I’ve had the pleasure of visiting this monastery quite a few times. If you get a chance, I definitely recommend stopping by and taking a tour.
