Roy Moore Accuser Speaks on Camera about Her Abuse: I Was 14, Trying to Play in an Adult’s World

“I was expecting candleight and roses, but what I got was very different,” said Leigh Corfman about her relationship with thirty-something year old Roy Moore.  She was fourteen years old when she met Moore at a courthouse when her parents were fighting over custody.  Later, she says they met secretly, in a faraway cabin.  She says he took her clothes off, touched her, and tried to get her to touch him.  In a blistering interview with NBC, she explains that she was a kid playing in an adult world. Because she had read Harlequin romances, she thought that the “romance between her and Moore would be unique and sweet  it wasn’t.

“It took away a lot of the specialness, it took trust away. It allowed me to delve into some things I wouldn’t have otherwise. It took me years to regain a sense of confidence in myself,” she said.  “I felt guilty, that I was the one to blame. It was decades before I could let that go.”

In the interview, she was asked about the incident.  The Daily Wire has the details:

“I wouldn’t exactly call it a date,” Corfman told NBC News of her first meeting with Moore. “At 14 I was not dating. At 14 I was not able to make those kinds of choices.” She described herself as trying to “play” the adult while Moore took advantage of her naivety.

“I was a 14-year-old child trying to play in an adult’s world and he was 32 years old,” she said.

“I met him around the corner from my house, my mother did not know and he took me to his home,” Corfman explained. “After arriving at his home on the second occasion that I went with him he basically laid out some blankets on the floor of his living room and proceeded to…seduce me, I guess you would say.”

Moore has passionately denied that he did anything wrong, though eight women have accused him of misconduct.
