There could be a first lady cat fight of epic proportions brewing between current FLOTUS Michelle Obama and former FLOTUS Hillary Clinton.

A new book called First Women, the Grace and Power of America’s Modern First Ladies written by Kate Anderson reveals a “relationship fraught with hurt feelings and resentment” that has brokered much tension between the two powerful women.

“The 2008 presidential campaign left deep and lasting scars on both the Clinton and the Obama camps, and they are still shockingly fresh,” writes Anderson.

One point of contention mentioned at Daily Mail is how Hillary made fun of Obama’s “hope and change” banter during that election year. Clinton had said at a stop in Ohio:

“The sky will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing, and everyone will know that we should do the right thing, and the world would be perfect.”

Hillary isn’t going to let such grandeur be wasted on someone else, only her presidency could bring about such a messianic moment, surely.

Insiders say that Michelle looks down her nose at the Clintons — she is taller and a much better dresser — but apparently the feeling is mutual as Hillary doesn’t believe Michelle has done enough as first lady and has let too many federal programs left to her charge dissolve.

While Hillary is power hungry, Michelle is more interested in starving school children and depriving them the joy of chips and soda. And just as Hillary is pining to climb her way back into a separate bedroom than Bill and his lady friends in the White House, Michelle has indicated that she can’t wait to escape the house built by slaves and leave the world of politics behind.

“The notion of sitting around the table with a set of policy advisers – no offense – makes me yawn,” Michelle once said. Or was that her husband who said that?

Anyway, rubbing salt in the wound — wait, scratch that. Salt is bad for you. (Right, FLOTUS?)… Rubbing kale in the wound, Michelle not-so-subtly expressed further disdain for Hillary by not ever hosting couples’ dinners while she was secretary of state and secretly hoped her pal Joe Biden would run against Hillary and beat her to a pulp. What a sweetheart!

But like her rival, Michelle is ready to hit the speaking trail after two long terms at the White House. Like her nemesis, she’ll probably leave 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue dead broke and will desperately need a seven-figure book deal stat. According to Michelle’s aides, she’s ready for those Hillary-esque speaking fees.

She’ll need the money, too, in order to keep up with her high-fashion needs. Maybe she’ll put a little extra aside to replace Barack’s mom jeans with something a little more Levi Strauss and a lot less Jordache.
