Yes, once again, love conquers all!  I have spoken many times about the power of love. Love truly is the Most Powerful Force in the Universe.  Bombard someone with love, and watch them change for the better.  It works every time!

And some of these unhappy souls may be so deeply immersed in darkness that they will flee the premises. They cannot live in the light. I have witnessed this happening over and over.

This Man was Negatively Affecting the Staff

A few years ago, I received a telephone call from a woman who had gotten her start in the mortgage business by attending my mortgage training institute.  Now she and her husband owned their own mortgage company.  And she was calling me to get my opinion on something.

So, she was concerned about one of their Mortgage Loan Originators, and the negative effect he was having on her staff.  Apparently, while he may have been their top producer, he was such a jerk that nobody could get along with him.

I had run into similar situations in my own business.  And I could appreciate her dilemma.  I was reminded of Proverbs 10:12 — “Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.”

How Should She Handle this Obnoxious Man?

She asked me for some guidance on how to handle this obnoxious man.  She wanted to fire him, but her husband only saw the BOTTOM LINE (sound familiar?).  And he said that she was crazy for even considering firing this man, since he brought in so much money to the company.

But she disagreed.  Because of this man’s obnoxious behavior, they had already lost an excellent Loan Processor because she refused to process this man’s loans.  The other Mortgage Loan Originators were also grumbling about his behavior.

He Constantly Gloated Over His Success

Apparently, every time he brought in a loan application to be processed, he gloated to the others about how fantastic he was.

If you had an employee who was causing such a disruption in your business, yet your business partner (in this case, it was her husband) refuses to do anything about it, what would you do?

This Woman Felt Powerless

I could imagine the dilemma this woman was in.  She wanted to maintain a harmonious working relationship with her husband, who didn’t want to even address the issue.  But she also wanted to maintain a happy and cooperative environment for her employees, who were on the verge of rebelling.

She admitted that their best Loan Processor had quit rather than work for this obnoxious man.  How many more employees would she lose?

God Suggested that She Send Love 

When a situation like this arises, I am so grateful that I have made God my business partner.  And I know that I can always turn to God for guidance.

Sure enough, God suggested that this woman begin sending love to this obnoxious man.

I Let Her Know I Understood Her Dilemma

So, I first let her know how much I understood her dilemma.  And I knew how important it was to maintain her working relationship with her husband.  But I also understood that she wanted to keep harmony and cooperation with her staff.

I Suggested that She Begin Sending Love

So, I suggested that she begin sending this obnoxious man LOVE LOVE LOVE!  This was something she could do silently, without confronting this man.  Also, she was to THANK GOD for the perfect outcome for all involved where this man was concerned.

That meant that he would either allow this love to change his heart, or he would leave.  She agreed to give it a try, since she was desperate.

This Man Left this Company!

Two weeks later, she called to tell me that this man had left the company and her husband had freaked out!  “Our business is ruined!” he exclaimed.

She, of course, was thrilled, and silently thanked God that he had left.  Someone even better would come to work for them, she just knew it!

She THANKED GOD for the Perfect Replacement

Her husband freaked out over this loss, but she was able to calm him down.  A better MLO would appear, she assured him.   “THANK YOU GOD for that perfect person,” she silently prayed.

Sure enough, she was calling to tell me that within the week of this man leaving, a husband-and-wife team of Mortgage Loan Originators walked into the office.  And they wanted to know if there were any openings, as they had just moved to the city and this mortgage company was located close to the area they moved to.

So, one bad apple left, when he couldn’t take the bombardment of LOVE LOVE LOVE, and God replaced him with TWO TOP PRODUCERS – who, by the way, the entire staff loves!

I’m telling you, applying spiritual principles to running your business will guarantee success!
