Fresno, CA – A group of Conservative Christians are speaking out against a rather popular book that has been circulating for a few thousand years, due to what they are calling “it’s promotion of woke, cancel culture.”
The book in question, colloquially known as “The Bible,” used to be a favorite among churchgoers. However, some are considering ditching it all together.
“Have you actually read it?” asked Regan Joseph, a long-time Evangelical. “It’s nothing but political correctness run amuck. The devil, probably a Conservative, gets cancelled just for asking some woke, social-justice warrior named Jesus a few questions. Oh, and let’s not forget the insistence of painting men as a bunch of bumbling idiots in one of the first few chapters of the second part of the book! Not to mention it’s promotion of women by their so-called ‘hero.'”
Mitchell Brotheo, pastor of the Reformed Baptist Church of Fresno, and leader of the movement, had this to say: “As a long-time pastor, I’ve grown sick and tired of watching this country rip apart at the seams because of the politically-correct liberal agenda. So, from now on, our church will no longer be reading these so-called “Bibles.” In fact, this coming Sunday, we are inviting all our congregants to bring theirs to the church so we can burn them.”
As of Monday, the hashtags #supportthedevil, #istandwithsatan, and #satancancelled have all been trending on Twitter. It’s not clear as to whether or not sales for the once popular book have been impacted, but as soon as we know, we’ll make sure to report back to you.
