July: The Death of Abdul Sattar Edhi
Three big stories captured our attention in July on opposite ends of the spectrum. The Republican National Convention brought a finality to the nomination of Donald J. Trump as the Republican candidate for President, to the dismay of many Muslims. The Democratic National Convention sealed Hillary Clinton’s nomination for the Democratic candidate for President (and of course brought us Khizr and Ghazala Khan). And, in Pakistan a beloved humanitarian passed away. Abdul Sattar Edhi was a humanitarian like no other, caring for orphans, children and millions of others in Pakistan in a myriad of ways.
