Hillsong – Like Incense/Sometimes By Step

“Oh God you are my God…”

Oddly enough this song has reminded me of 1 Peter 4:12-13 which says, “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. ¹³But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.”

It’s taken me a while, and is still very much a challenge, to get to a point where I could say, God is my God no matter the circumstances… whatever happens to me, Good or bad, I will still follow, fear, and love Him… and as it says in verse 13 to even “Rejoice insofar as I share Christ’s sufferings…”

To think that I/we might be so lucky, to be chosen to walk with Christ and follow His ways, and to suffer for His glory…
