Failure: Random Thoughts…

Failure: Random Thoughts… December 14, 2011

“If I fail more than you do, I win, because built into that lesson is this notion that you get to keep playing, and if I get to keep playing that means you get to keep failing, and sooner or later you’re going to succeed. The people who lose are the ones who get stuck or fail so badly they don’t get to play again..” – Seth Godin

So, simply put, the catch is not failing so bad you knock yourself out of the game. The hard part is staying in the game long enough until you eventually find success. But if you do manage to, you will find success.

The fact of the matter is that, everyone falls down, but not everyone gets back up. it’s those of us who are able to get knocked down repeatedly and yet repeatedly get back up and keep moving that will find success.

Though it sounds simple, getting back up after the 100th time of being knocked down, rejected, denied, turned away, or put down is easier said than done. As noted in an earlier blog post there are definitely other factors that come into play, though I do believe that we give in way too easily. I think we live in a culture that embraces giving up and throwing the towel in too quickly.

Our endurance for failure just isn’t there.

If you can’t endure through failure you will not succeed.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.- Romans 5:3-4

That is all for today.
