So, I consciously decided the other day that I was going to stop wasting time and my life, and start to “live hard”… “if you are going to live hard, then you are going to get hurt hard sometimes. “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” -Jesus Read more

Non-discipleship costs abiding peace, a life penetrated by love, faith that sees everything in the light of God’s overriding governance for good, hopefulness that stands firm in the most discouraging of circumstances, power to do what is right and withstand evil. In short, it costs exactly that abundance of life Jesus said he came to bring— life lived on its highest plane. Read more

Calm Down. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people say that too me. What most mean by that is, stop stirring the pot, stop rocking the boat, just let things be as they are. For a while I held in there. i stayed true to my convictions. I refused to stay quiet I put Jesus on blast… But as time went on, I started to think, maybe they’re right. Maybe they have a point. Maybe I should… Read more

Out of all of these I’d say the one that is a “must have” is “Devotional Classics”… it takes excerpts from guys like C.S. Should I take this job or that job? Should I move here or there? So many decisions, so many choices, so many directions that one could go, how does one choose? And I’m not talking about small decisions as to where you should eat or which movie you should… Read more

So got this idea from @loswhit! (Worship leader guy, in Nasville) Thought I’d give it a try. This is day one of my road trip. Though I think next time I’ll choose a day where 90% of it is NOT spent driving across country alone. Hope you enjoy! Read more

So today, I hit the road. I’m driving cross country to eventually wind up in Boston, ma. I’m driving from Huntington Beach and hitting up 6 different cities within however many days it takes… Vegas, Albuquerque, Dallas, Nashville, Baltimore, and ending the trip in Boston.   I don’t know what this trip is going to be for me, I don’t have anything planned for it, I’m just going. I don’t think this is going to be a crazy adventure filled… Read more
