4. The little things matter.
Gaines points out that kids pay attention to the even the littlest of kind gestures that we do for them–even when they don’t verbally acknowledge it at the time. We shouldn’t underestimate how meaningful a note in lunchbox, a home cooked meal, or showing up to cheer them on might be to our kids. Gaines reminds us that the details ARE important, so we should take advantage of these opportunities to encourage our kiddos through these little acts of love.
