3 Photos: Looking forward to Alaskan Summer

3 Photos: Looking forward to Alaskan Summer May 3, 2013

April has us looking forward to summer in Alaska. Over at Birch Leaf Photography, my friend Tracy has some amazing pictures of past summers. Tracy describes this photo: “One of my favorite places is the Denali Highway. Not to be confused with the National Park, the Denali Highway runs east to west for 125 miles and connects Cantwell with Paxson. You will see some of the most gorgeous country in the world driving this road, which is only open to auto traffic during the summer. Here is one of my favorite photos from this past summer titled “Valley Rain” taken from MacLaren Summit.”

As as amateur photographer, mostly of the eastern Sierra Nevada mountains down here in CA, all I can say is excellent photos!

Yeah I know, “them thar Alaskan mountains make these here Sierras look like foothills, and the Rockies for children to climb!” (inspired by a line by the character Del Gue in the movie “Jeremiah Johnson” comparing the Rockies to the Andes and Alps)

Very nice pictures. I really liked the first picture very much as well. And the flowers in the second picture looked very nice as well as explained below. The mountains in the backdrop looked great. And the flowers in the second picture looked very nice as well (as explained below). Maybe because of my bad eyesight, or because I am afraid of heights, because of my great love of water, because I am looking forward to warmer weather where all standing water in Alaska doesn’t turn to ice, or maybe because the great mountains in Alaska are often visible…I really liked the last picture (which I just noticed has a GREAT view of mountains).
Very nice pictures, all of them. Thank you Bristol!

Just saw a post about your grandfather. May God bless him with a very speedy recovery from his heart surgery.
