5 Signs that Political Correctness Died in 2016 — Good Riddance!

2016 has been a wild ride; from the government deciding which bathrooms we can use, to college students needing safe spaces, the crazy election, and then the need for more safe spaces because Donald Trump scares the pants off liberals. We’ve just about seen it all. And in the final days of the year, it’s even blamed for taking too many beloved celebrities way too early. But there is a silver lining to a rather dark year: 2016 just might be the year political correctness died.

Here are 5 signs I think prove the PC culture bit the dust.

1. The drop in NFL ratings

For years, professional football has been one of the most popular things on television. These days, it’s the only reason people are hanging on to their cable and satellite subscriptions. But as soon as San Francisco 49ers Colin Kaepernick turned his back on America — I don’t think he just “took a knee” in protest — viewers bailed. Week after week, the quarterback lectured about Black Lives Matter and wore his Fidel Castro and Malcolm X T-shirts at press conferences. And people grew really tired of it and decided to change the channel. Kaepernick’s “revolution” fizzled pretty fast.
