5. Trump’s victory

The election victory of Donald Trump was the final nail in the PC culture’s coffin. Trump was bold enough to say what many American’s were already feeling but being chastised for by the Obama administration. Trump’s step onto the political stage was a breath of fresh air and his straightforward talk resonated across the United States.

He turned political correctness on its head and promised to do away with it. Here’s his end of the year message:

“So when I started 18 months ago, I told my first crowd in Wisconsin that we are going to come back here someday and we are going to say Merry Christmas again. Merry Christmas — so, merry Christmas everyone. Happy New Year, but Merry Christmas.”
