Well, some pro-athletes have not been covering themselves in glory this week. LeBron James recently held a long press conference to give his feelings and thoughts about the President of the United States. This was, of course, after he called President Trump a “bum” on Twitter.
(Have you ever noticed how no one critiques anyone’s use of Twitter, except the President’s?)
The weirdest thing about LeBron’s political analysis was when he was asked why people in his home state of Ohio voted for Trump. That’s when things took a turn for the worse. He actually called Trump voters ignorant — which is dumb enough. But check out his actual response:
“I don’t think a lot of people was educated.”
Ha! I can’t stop laughing at that. Independence Journal Review took the pains to actually transcribe his political speech. Here’s goes:
“I don’t think a lot of people was educated. And I think that’s one of the biggest problems that we have when it becomes vote time. People are just not educated, on either the individual or what’s actually going on in the state of the world right now. Not that particular state, but the state of the world.
I don’t think a lot of people are educated, and they make choices and say things that’s uneducated. Am I saying that the people of Ohio wasn’t educated? Am I saying that some of the other states that voted for [Trump] was uneducated? They could have been, or they could not have been. But that doesn’t mean it was the right choice.”
Got that, you dumb Republicans?
Here’s a newsflash to all the pro-athletes out there. Maybe people voted for Trump because they didn’t want to vote for Hillary Clinton, arguably the worst candidate the Democrats have even put forth. Or maybe they educated themselves on the issues and actually liked his Make America Great Again promises.
LeBron better watch out, or people will stop tuning in to basketball just like they’ve stopped watching football.
