Houston Interview That Should Inspire Anyone Struggling With Faith in Hard Times

As I wrote yesterday, Houston is is still facing death and destruction in the wake of historic flooding. According to the Washington Post: 

Emergency teams — aided by a growing contingent of citizen-rescuers — used boats and waded through waist-deep water Monday seeking people stranded by devastating, historic flooding in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, even as forecasters warned of looming rain, rising rivers and floodwaters that would swallow still more streets and neighborhoods.

Even as the storm had been blamed for several deaths, the full toll of Harvey’s destruction remained unclear in Houston and across Texas and Louisiana. Officials warned that the danger was far from over, saying that flooding in Texas is unlikely to recede quickly and that the storm will force more than 30,000 people from their homes.

Like many of you, I’ve been watching in horror as the flood waters in Texas rise and rise.  But I’ve been so inspired by some of the interviews coming out of the drenched city.  This one is priceless.  A reporter stops a man who was just rescued, along with this son.  His name is Jeremiah, and his perspective on this flood and God sends shivers down me!

Even though he had no home and had almost lost his life, he gives God the glory — right there on national television.  Watch this:

How amazing is that perspective?  No matter what you’re dealing with, God is there.  This Bible verse from Isaiah comes to mind:

“For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”
