Women in Combat? ‘When Harry Met Sally’ edition

Kingsley Browne:  “It’s not clear that men can actually bond with women in the way they bond with other men.”

Samantha Bee:  “So women can disrupt bromance in combat zones?”

Kingsley Browne:  “Almost by definition.”

Sound familiar?  Probably because Nora Ephron wrote it in 1989:

Harry:  “You realize of course that we could never be friends.”

Sally:  “Why not?”

Harry:  “… Men and women can’t be friends, because the sex part always gets in the way.”

It was funny then.  And it’s funny now.
