The Catholic Bard Wants to Interview You!

The Catholic Bard Wants to Interview You! 2026-03-26T18:03:26-05:00

Being a writer takes a lot of time, energy and effort. Sometimes the thoughts flow like a river sweet and yummy like in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory and other times it’s like a dried-up lake with dead plants and birds and rocks and things. But when you do find the words to say, you can create a beautiful masterpiece worth writing and worth sharing. With all the writers trying to get your attention sometimes your work gets overlooked. You want to talk about your work and get others to read it. I want to help with that process.

I would like to interview you about your work.  Because this is a Catholic blog, I want to profile Catholic writers who use their skills to communicate their Catholic or Christian faith. I’m open to all people of good will who love Christ and love people. Bloggers, Story Writers, Youtubers, Podcasters, Social Media posters.

This is a win/win situation as sometimes it’s tough for me to come up with new material.

Because of so many submissions it will most likely be published a month after submission. I will publish about 2 – 3 per week among my other articles I do publish. I will make this a priority in my blog posting.  The Response has been good so far.

This is a list of everyone who has contributed so far and those who will be published over the coming weeks. As of March 27, There will have been 11 Published Interviews with 12 more left to go. Making it a total of 23 so far. Others have expressed interest as well. There are a few more links to some older interviews and guest articles. I have a Jimmy Akin article he did years ago that are not like the others. The response has been good. The following blog post will let you know what others have written and maybe give you some ideas for your own questions. Some links to guest articles. I will publish all most any interview providing it follows the general rules of Catholic decency and charity described below.

Most of the folks who have submitted me interviews are fiction writers. Their books (as well as everyone else’s) are listed in this list. Your book is listed in here.

If interested just look at the interview questions, fill them out and send them back. The other two posts are for you to see what your fellow writers have written.

Some Guidelines

  • No slamming others.
  • No slamming church documents or councils.
  • Stay away from hot political issues only because those issues tend to cause heat and not light. I sometimes post political things but only if I can do it charitably, civilly and reasonably.
  • Stay from negativity.
  • Try not to be super long but not super short.
  • Be creative, unique, and yourself.
  • Have fun and enjoy yourself.

Keep this in mind when writing.

Never let evil talk pass your lips; say only the good things men need to hear, things that will really help them. Do nothing that will sadden the Holy Spirit with whom you were sealed against the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, all passion and anger, harsh words, slander, and malice of every kind. In place of these, be kind to one another, compassionate, and mutually forgiving, just as God has forgiven you in Christ. -Ephesians 4:29-32

If your writing is in continuity with the vision of the Catholic Bard, I will publish your interview. If not I would let you know. For example, I won’t publish something critiquing the pope and how terrible Vatican 2 Catholics or TLM Catholics are and that they are just awful terrible people whom I need to ridicule. I will edit responses and check for grammar and flow of continuity and clarity but will not change the context of anything you say. You are free to use this interview in your own blog and I’m free to use it on my blog or whatever else I want to do with it.

I will also alert you when it is posted so you can tell others about it.

Befriend me on Facebook and subscribe to the Catholic Bard.

I’m also trying to start a Substack.
