MINCO, OK – The old saying goes “Preach the Gospel and when necessary use words.” Mike, who is a member at 2nd Baptist Church in Minco, OK says at a young age he took this saying to heart. “I’ve preached the Gospel to thousands and thousands of people. Not once did I find words to be necessary.”
Mike claims to have converted over a thousand people to the Gospel. When asked how he knew that they were converted he responded, “they just get that special look in their eye that says, ‘hey, I know what you are doing and I’m digging it’ and it is in that moment that I know they have accepted Jesus.”
When pressed further about what kinds of things he does to share the Gospel Mike listed several things such as holding open doors for people, helping little old ladies across the street and wearing Newsboys t-shirts.
“It’s the little things that count” Mike says, “it really isn’t that hard to share the Gospel. You just have to look for opportunities such as picking up a piece of trash off the ground or letting someone go in front of you at the store, you know, doing the kinds of things the apostles did.”
Sources report that Mike knows that supposedly persecution exists for sharing the Gospel but that he doesn’t really understand why. “Most people appreciate those things so I don’t know why God said that we would face persecution.” Mike says that he has no plans to use words in the future since his current method is doing so well.
