Listen to me talk about the Coens on ‘Far From Hollywood’! February 2, 2016

Hello everyone!

I’m currently mending from some minor elective surgery, and laid up on the couch with some Blu-Rays, DVDs and books. I actually think I might publish a separate entry this week about what I watched, but for right now this is about as deep of a post as you’re getting until the pain meds wear off :-)

One of my favorite hobbies I picked up over the past year is podcasting. I currently co-host two podcasts: a pop culture one called “It’s My Favorite” and a film-centric one called “Far From Hollywood” for the Detroit Film Critics Society. The latter began late last year, but it’s quickly turned into something I’m very proud of.

This week’s episode is one that was particularly fun. Rather than tackle a specific film this week for review, in anticipation of “Hail, Caesar,” we devoted an entire episode to the filmography of Joel and Ethan Coen. I was joined by fellow Detroit Film Critics Society member Perry Seibert and I had a great time. We talk about two of my favorite filmmakers, some of our favorite movies and the themes that keep cropping up in their work. It was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy it! And come Friday, I’ll have my thoughts on “Hail, Caesar!”

You can find the podcast here.
