Latest issue of NTS

Latest issue of NTS September 1, 2009

The October issue of NTS is now online HERE.

It is strange to recognize the titles of some of these article from their earlier lives as papers.

The first piece, on Q (with much criticism), is by Francis Watson – he presented this as a paper in our Durham NT seminar.  It was excellent and should be given serious attention.

David Horrell, one of my favorite NT scholars, offers an excellent article entitled: ‘The Themes of 1 Peter: Insights from the Earliest Manuscripts (the Crosby-Schøyen Codex ms 193 and the Bodmer Miscellaneous Codex containing P72)’.  If I am correct, David gave a paper on this at the British NT conference last year and maybe also at SBL.

Joel Marcus treats the topic: ‘Birkat Ha-Minim Revisited’. Again, this title sounds familiar.  I think Joel gave this as a paper here in Durham when we had a Duke-Durham conference on identity and theology.  I could not make this paper, so I will have to peek at this article.

Overall, this is a very impressive issue of NTS with 9 article in all.  The last one is jointly by Mike Bird and Michael Whitenton on Patristic evidence in the Pistis Christou debate.  Looks interesting!
