Wheaton Conference – Day Negative One (?)

Wheaton Conference – Day Negative One (?)

Arriving here at Wheaton was nice – especially after 6+ hours of driving.  The weather was outstanding and the campus is very beautiful.  Also, I made a pit-stop at the nearby Trader Joe’s to buy snacks!

OK, there is really no need to blog on today (Thursday) because it is nothing but registration.  But the conference was offering two free books for the first 400 people to register on site (out of over 1100).  I timed my arrival so I would be early.  I went to the doors about 45 minutes early and about 50 people had already congregated.  By the time they opened the doors, the crowds had swelled to about 200 (maybe more?).  Anyway, I got in, but it was exciting to see such a buzz and excitement about this conference.

The free books were Goodacre and Perrin’s Questioning Q and a biography on John Wyclif by G.R. Evans.

There are several publishers here: Baker, Eerdmans, IVP, Crossway, and also a general book table with works by N.T. Wright and the other speakers.  Nothing has jumped out at me to buy, but I will do a second run through tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the ‘Jesus’ day (Friday).  Looking forward to it!
