Blog turned 300… What this school year will bring…

I was excited to see my blog passing the 300,000 hits mark just a day ago. Again, thank you to those that read and comment. I have been blogging since January 2007, I believe. It is has been a very good experience. I have made some mistakes – things I regret. I have stirred the pot sometimes. I have learned much from the online community of students and bloggers. I have made many friends. I have gotten a few freebies along the way.

What does this coming school year hold for my blog? Many book reviews, of course. I am also processing a lot of Bonhoeffer and especially his view of discipleship and also his approach to Scripture. I am co-chairing a new program unit for the Institute for Biblical Research on “The Relationship Between the Old Testament and the New” and I will keep you updated on the direction we are going in. The new Journal for the Study of Paul and His Letters is publishing the first (complete) volume very soon – I am proud to be assistant editor and I think this launch volume is very impressive. I will give some insights about what it takes to do a journal – Its not easy, but the internet really helps! I am working on my commentary on Colossians – I assume some thoughts and questions will come up from that.
