My Paper for the PNW SBL/AAR Next Weekend (Portland, OR)

Well folks, it is that time of year again! I am very excited to attend the PNW SBL/AAR meeting which will be at Concordia College in Portland this year. The preliminary program is here.

I am excited to catch up with folks I met last year, especially my friends at George Fox. Speaking of which, my own paper will be on Sunday morning just before Paul N Anderson’s paper. The funny thing is that I am going to focus on John (while my “normal” area is Paul), and Paul Anderson is (apparently) going to focus on the apostle Paul! Should be interesting!

Paul’s paper is entitled: “Encounter, Dissonance, and Reflection in the Dialectical Development of Paul’s Theology”
My paper is entitled: “The Invisible Made Visible: A Re-Evaluation of Jewish Idol Polemic in the Greco-Roman World and Its Implications for New Testament Christology”
