Nobody wants to see sex as an “obligation,” but the Bible clearly challenges us to make our spouse’s sexual needs a high priority. The verse above continues on in a passage talking very specifically about how both the husband and the wife should each put the other’s sexual needs ahead of their own. This makes the excuse “I’m not in the mood,” something we should be using too often! When both spouses prioritize the sexual aspect of their relationship, nearly all the other aspects of marriage will usually improve as a result.
