I’ve seen this destructive pattern play out many times. A man starts checking out other women and convinces himself that it’s harmless. The next step is to start checking out women through pornography. Again, he convinces himself that this is harmless entertainment and a “natural” part of being a man. He is slowly desensitized to the images he’s seeing and it leads him to search out more hardcore images to get the same rush of pleasure that he found when he first started. After some time, the images alone only feed his desire for more and he’s led to pursuing sex outside of marriage. I’m not saying that every man who checks out other women will eventually fall into infidelity and divorce, but I am saying that almost every man who has an affair started by simply “noticing” other women.
