Love is a commitment; not a feeling. If he treats love as a fickle feeling that comes and goes he doesn’t really love you (or anyone else for that matter). The strength of his commitment reveals the depth of his love. Like Pastor Matt Chandler has poignantly stated, “Love says, ‘I’ve seen the ugly parts of you, and I’m staying.'” Saying, “I love you” is just another way of saying, “I’m here for you. I’m committed to you, and I’ll be by your side now and always…no matter what.”
