I think Bryan Fischer may finally have said something that is valid. In speaking about a case where the Freedom From Religion Foundation successfully convinced a Mississippi school to stop broadcasting prayers over the PA system before football games, he compares this to the civil war and calls it a “second war of northern aggression.” Hey, if you want to compare those who want to blend church and state to the confederacy, that’s fine by me.
Bryan Fischer should really get together with Debbie Schlussel to form the world’s greatest Sharia plot detection team. I mean, you can’t fool those two. No matter how cleverly you hide that secret plot to impose Sharia law on the world, they’ll sniff it out. I mean, you’d think that having the first female athlete ever from Saudi Arabia in the Olympics might be seen as a step forward, even if a small one, for women in Islam — but Fischer knows better. It’s all a plot to “enshrine” Sharia law at the Olympics.
It’s always amusing to hear the anti-gay bigots, who seem to spend most of their time launching boycotts against companies they deem to be insufficiently hateful, cry and scream about how intolerant anyone else is if they try to pressure corporations to support equality. Bryan Fischer throws a delightful little temper tantrum here:

You just knew that Bryan Fischer would offer one of the more hyperbolic and absurd reactions to the Supreme Court’s health care mandate ruling. That’s his schtick, to take the usual right wing outrage and turn it up to 11. But mostly he just sputtered:
The endlessly bigoted Bryan Fischer claims that you can’t reason with gay people because God has given them over to a depraved mind and they can’t think like a normal person anymore. How amusing. A man who is absolutely allergic to reason says other people can’t be reasoned with.
Bryan Fischer delivers yet another bigoted and idiotic rant against gay people, declaring that they are not capable of forming relationships and that allowing them to adopt amounts to “a form of sexual abuse” and “a form of child abuse.” Except, of course, that many of those kids stuck in foster homes got there because of screwed up straight parents.
Bryan Fischer continues to be a reliable daily weather vane for seeing which way the wingnut mind is blowing. On one of his recent shows he offered up a bizarre and clearly false conspiracy theory on Attorney General Eric Holder, saying that he refuses to prosecute anyone if the victim in the case was white — because he just hates white people so much.
Bryan Fischer has reached even deeper down into the fever swamp of his deranged mind and dredged up yet another bizarre conspiracy theory — this time by passing on a rumor of a rumor from an unnamed source (Michele Bachmann, anyone?) about how the DHS is preventing the military and the police from getting ammunition so they can go to war against them. Seriously.
