Oh boy, it’s wingnut on wingnut crime time again. And this time, it’s two of the most annoying people on the right, Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin. After the last debate, Coulter sent out a rather vile tweet that is sure to catch the attention of Sarah Palin:
Oh boy. It looks like The Donald is hard up for attention again. He went on Fox and Friends and made this announcement:
Donald Trump said on “Fox & Friends” Monday that he’ll reveal “very big” news about President Barack Obama by Wednesday, but declined to give any hints about his plan.
“Something very, very big concerning the president of the United States,” he said. “It’s going to be very big. I know one thing — you will cover it in a very big fashion.”
In watching much of the right wing flee from Todd Akin for saying what many of them believed themselves, one has to wonder why they so quickly ditched him and yet continue to associate with so many others who have said equally vile things as a matter of routine.
Is there anything more endlessly absurd and idiotic than watching right wing ideologues rail against the evils of engaging on boycotts while engaging in their own boycotts? The AFA’s Sandy Rios had James Simpson of the right-wing Capital Research Center on her show to call liberal boycotts “economic terrorism.”
Wingnut extraordinaire Bill Federer went on Bryan Fischer’s radio show and claimed that Obama is planning an “October surprise” to steal the election. Bizarrely, he thinks that the Ted Haggard scandal was somehow manipulated to help the Democrats gain power — and that Obama even managed to create the economic crisis in the closing months of the Bush administration to get himself into power. Oh, and it’s all just like how Stalin sunk the Tea Party in the Soviet Union. What? Yep, he said that.
If Obama came out in support of oxygen, a common meme goes, the Republicans would suffocate themselves. Here’s a perfect example. If Obama doesn’t host a National Day of Prayer event at the White House, he’s obviously a atheistmuslimcommieterrorist. But when he issues a proclamation of days of prayer, they question his motivations:
The wingnuts have a new shiny object to throw a temper tantrum about, as a Sikh — a genuine non-white non-Christian — was allowed to give a prayer at the Republican National Convention. Janet Mefferd predictably clutches her pearls:
In all the talk about Todd Akin’s idiotic claim that the female body has some mechanism to prevent pregnancy when they’re raped, the most influential source of that claim has been identified as Dr. Jack Willke, perhaps the most important anti-choice figure you’ve likely never heard of. Bryan Fischer, in defended Akin’s statement, linked to this article by Willke from 1999.
It’s been a while since we checked in with our old buddy Pat. He’s now saying incredibly stupid shit at a new blog, like blaming the death of Chick-Fil-A’s public relations executive on Obama and those evil fascist liberals. Because apparently, criticizing a company causes heart attacks on Planet Wingnuttia (but only when liberals do it, of course).
When all this controversy broke out over Chick-Fil-A’s support for anti-gay bigotry, I was a bit baffled; I’d never even seen such a restaurant, much less eaten at one. I didn’t even know they existed. The Onion has now written an amusing satire on their introduction of a new homophobic sandwich:
