The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who engage in massive psychological projection and do I have a doozy this time. Glenn Beck is actually going after Alex Jones, calling him a crazy conspiracy theorist and claiming that his appearance on the Piers Morgan show was part of a conspiracy to make conservatives look bad.

I was listening to Rant in E Minor, one of Bill Hicks’ classic CDs, the other day. At one point he says, “That’s what fundamentalism breeds, no irony.” Or at least no sense of irony, no awareness of when one is psychologically projecting, as Bill Donohue does in this quote about the American Atheists billboard in Times Square:

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those with an incredibly lack of self-awareness and irony, constantly projecting their own most obvious traits onto others. Peter LaBarbera, one of the most virulent and appalling bigots in the country not named Fred Phelps, clearly earned that award in a conversation with equally bigoted nutball Ken Hutcherson:

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who display a staggering lack of self-awareness, accusing their opponents of their own worst actions and attributes. Laura Ingraham has surely earned that award by applying a double standard while pretending to expose a double standard.

To the title of Worst Lawyer in America Not Named Larry Klayman (or Orly Taitz), Mat Staver, dean of the Liberty University law school, can now add a Bryan Fischer Award for this breathtaking bit of unintentional irony. He actually says that Islam is not a religion but a political ideology:

Bryan Fischer says Sen. Marco Rubio should have just said yes, the earth is only 6000 years old. Because, Fischer claims, the evidence supports that “fact.” And he offers up the usual list of bad arguments from the creationist jokebook to support that absurd claim. Like this one:

The Bryan Fischer award is given to those who display a total lack of self-awareness, accusing their opponents of their own worst sins and attributes. Young earth creationist Ken Ham pulls off a rare double axel of stupid, combining psychological projection with a clear violation of Godwin’s law by comparing a new humanist website for kids to Hitler and calling it brainwashing.

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who display a staggering lack of self-awareness and sense of irony, those who are continually accusing their opponents of having their own worst and most blatant traits. And this picture of Bill O’Reilly pretty much speaks for itself:

The Bryan Fischer award is given to those who show a staggering lack of self-awareness, who accuse their opponents of engaging in their own worst behaviors. And this may be the most blatant example I’ve ever seen of it. Karl Rove says Obama won reelection by “suppressing the vote.”

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who demonstrate an incredible lack of self-awareness, accusing their opponents of having their own worst traits. Rush Limbaugh provides a textbook example of psychological projection in this statement about Gov. Chris Christie in the aftermath of the hurricane:

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who display an astonishing lack of self-awareness and no sense of irony, people who project their own worst flaws onto others. Today’s nominee is Fischer’s co-worker at the American Family Association, Buster Wilson. Check out this bit of projection:

Once again, Bryan Fischer has earned the award named after him, which is given to those blessed with an astonishing obliviousness to their own obvious contradictions and who routinely accuse their opponents of their own worst traits. On his radio show, he actually said that liberals “cannot be reasoned with, they cannot be dialogued with, they cannot be compromised with – they’re not interested in compromise whatsoever – they cannot be collaborated with, they can only be defeated.”
