Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council offers a ridiculously hypocritical argument for why the religious freedom of Muslims is not protected by the Constitution. It’s the same old argument about Islam being more than just a religion, as if that did not apply to Christianity as well. Oh, and the murderous Muslims are the real ones.
Tony Perkins is one of many wingnuts who continually claim that Obama may well be a Muslim. After a caller accused him of being a Muslim on his radio show, Perkins said it’s Obama’s fault that people think that. And his evidence for this is that he didn’t do anything to protect Miriam Ibrahim in Sudan.

And he’s set a convenient deadline on it — he thinks it will happen in his lifetime. That conveniently allows him to keep fleecing his followers for money by peddling paranoia until the day he dies.
Tony Perkins brought Republican Congressman Mark Meadows on his radio show this week to support his claim that the Obama administration hasn’t done anything to help Meriam Ibrahim, the Sudanese Christian woman sentenced to death for apostasy. Meadows debunked that claim completely:

The Anti-Defamation League is condemning the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins for making an offensive and ludicrous comparison between forbidding discrimination against gay people and the Holocaust that killed millions of Jews and many other groups.
Boy, the Christian right is really focused on this incredibly moronic claim that gay rights supporters are just like the Nazis and that Christians will soon be rounded up and taken to concentration camps (run by FEMA, of course). Tony Perkins is the latest to roll out this dystopic delusion.
