Tony Perkins had Sen. Pat Roberts of Kansas on his radio show this week and he made the absolutely bizarre argument that the death sentence of a Christian Sudanese woman is related to the Supreme Court’s ruling in Citizens United. See if you can follow this logic:
In the seemingly endless competition to see who can make the most hyperbolic and dystopic predictions about what same-sex marriage will do to the country, the world, and the universe, Tony Perkins has stepped forward to claim that it will lead to the “dissolution of the republic.”
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: A major religious right figure, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, has told a whopper of a lie about President Obama, one that is easily disproved with a few seconds on the Google. He no doubt does this safe in the knowledge that his followers neither know nor would care if they did:
Wow. Just when you thought Tony Perkins couldn’t say anything dumber than the million dumb things he’s said before, he takes that as a challenge and tops himself. Reacting to a DOE investigation of 55 colleges and their handling of rape complaints, he says that birth control leads to rape and tyranny.
A whole lot of stupid things have been said about the Supreme Court’s ruling in Greece v Galloway by the Christian right. Naturally, Tony Perkins wants to add his name to the list of those staying stupid things. He says the ruling was an answer to prayer!
One of the most amusing things to me about the Christian right is how utterly oblivious they are to their own contradictions (alternatively, how cravenly dishonest they are about them). On Tony Perkins’ radio show, he and Mike Huckabee said that Christian conservatives would never target a company over its support of gay rights. Yes, your head should be hitting the desk right about now.
Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council is one of those anti-gay leaders who has tried to keep a stiff upper lip in the face of the overwhelming evidence that the Christian right is losing on gay marriage and gay rights in general. And he’s finally found a poll he likes:

Evolution is wrong because he can list some phrases he doesn’t understand at all and there’s more evidence for God sending bad weather than for global warming.
Tony Perkins and Ken Blackwell told a big ol’ honking lie on the Family Research Council’s radio show a few days ago, claiming that right wingers don’t commit domestic terrorism in this country, that it’s always done by left wing extremists. Seriously, they said that:
