Glenn Beck loves his melodramatic “for such a time as this” moments, where he claims that he’s been doing the will of God, wittingly or unwittingly, and now it’s all coming to fruition. He’s made such proclamations many times. Now he says that God has been preparing his supporters to save America by electing Ted Cruz.
Glenn Beck really, really hates Donald Trump, and for good reason. With a live TV audience last week, he said that those who vote for Trump will pay a “high eternal price” for doing so, because God is actually going to ask them who they voted for when they reach the pearly gates.

Glenn Beck, still campaigning with his latest “next George Washington” Ted Cruz, told the crowd at a campaign stop that Cruz has the best chance of winning the White House because he has God himself on his side. Of course, about half the losing Republicans in the last few primaries have thought that too.
So that story about Glenn Beck telling audiences that he had George Washington’s copy of Don Quixote that he bought the same day he signed the Constitution grows more interesting. In a statement to the Huffington Post, which broke the story, he admits to the error and says he’s takes “full responsibility” for misleading people.
Breitbart.com has pretty much been the official press apparatus of the Donald Trump campaign for months now, lavishing him with praise and defending him from criticism. But I’m sorry, I have to laugh out loud when I hear Glenn Beck go all Godwin on them for this while campaigning for Ted Cruz.
Glenn Beck has been campaigning for Ted Cruz around the country and bringing along George Washington memorabilia, like his compass so he can say Cruz will steer us in the right direction (get it? Do you get it? Do ya?). He’s also been waving around what he claims is Washington’s copy of Don Quixote. Nope.
There are few things that amuse me more than when Glenn Beck goes into his prophet routine. The only thing that could make it funnier is if he actually came out in Johnny Carson’s old Karnak the Magnificent costume when he did it. Like he’s doing now, begging people to take his warnings seriously and vote for Ted Cruz because he’s always been right about everything else.
Glenn Beck has been crusading for a year or so to get anti-tax zealot Grover Norquist off the board of the National Rifle Association and now he’s urging his followers who are NRA members to vote to impeach him from the board when the organization sends a mailer around to its membership.
The Christian is always ready with a convenient explanation of God’s will that just happens, by total coincidence, to match their own beliefs and narrative. Glenn Beck explains why God let Justice Scalia die and, wouldn’t you know it, it’s so people will vote for the candidate he’s endorsed, Ted Cruz! What a coinkydink!

Well this time he says that Hillary Clinton supported the Occupy Wall Street protests, which was the beginning of a revolution that will soon lead to journalists being killed in the streets.
There’s a big shakeup going on inside Glenn Beck’s media empire, apparently, and some unnamed insiders are saying that this could be the beginning of a mass exodus. Rats from a sinking ship, perhaps? Frankly, I doubt it. There will always be a large audience for Beck’s particular brand of ignorance, paranoia and grandiosity.
