Glenn Beck continues to contradict himself on an almost daily basis, apparently unaware that there’s this thing called the internet that records what you said previously. In an hour-long interview with the loathsome S.E. Cupp on CNN, he had this to say:
Glenn Beck delivered a weird, stream-of-consciousness rant that began with Obama not doing enough to support gay rights at the Sochi Olympics (WHAT?), then something something Putin and Syria, and ending with a declaration that Ted Cruz may be the new Ronald Reagan. Oh, I’ll just let Right Wing Watch explain:
Poor Glenn Beck. He’s just so persecuted. Why, a Catholic university even turned his daughter against him and convinced her that he was anti-gay just because he wants to deny them equal rights. Naturally, this is the most horrible oppression imaginable.
Glenn Beck’s latest grifter plan is the sale of a CD that he commissioned from musicians, a Christmas album called Believe Again. On his broadcast last week he read from a letter he wrote to those musicians, full of pathos and wildly exaggerated nonsense, delivered with Beck’s usual hyper-emotional weepiness. These songs will change the world and “help preserve the rights of man.” Funny stuff.
On his show Thursday, Glenn Beck offered a pair of ridiculous stories about bootstrappy Americans refusing help from the evil federal government in the wake of a natural disaster. They both sound like complete BS to me. Here he is talking about the first one, on which he models the entire story:
Here’s another bizarre Glenn Beck diatribe, in which he claims that the national anthem and the pledge of allegiance are both a product of “progressivism” (a word he uses a lot that seems to mean “whatever I disagree with at any given moment”). Basically, anything done by anyone he deems a progressive — which is virtually everyone — is “progressivism” and therefore bad. Except when it’s not.
Glenn Beck made the absolutely deranged claim that President Obama is responsible for the murder of a family by a relative from China, who reportedly hacked them up with a cleaver out of jealousy that they had everything. So obviously this is because of Obama’s “class warfare.” The fact that the murderer is from China, doesn’t even speak English and therefore could not be influenced by Obama’s rhetoric even if it was the straw man version Beck offers? That’s a fact, which has no relevance to anything Beck claims.
Leave it to Glenn Beck, super genius, to find a conspiracy in the current controversy over the Washington Redskins mascot. It’s all because Dan Snyder, the owner of the Redskins, donates a lot of money to Republican causes and candidates. And the fact that nearly all NFL owners do that is just the kind of “fact” that a liberal socialist Muslim Kenyan like you would throw out to cast doubt upon his brilliant theory.
When I saw this article on Glenn Beck’s The Blaze website debunking the claim that the website for the health care exchanges cost $634 million, I immediately wondered how long it would be before Beck was repeating it on the air despite that fact. The answer: About 24 hours.
Glenn Beck’s latest inane conspiracy theory is that if the schools don’t teach cursive writing anymore, that’s part of an attempt to enslave children. He even claims, without evidence, that they’re not teaching kids to type (in a world full of computers?) or even to read.
Here’s Glenn Beck on another one of his epic rants, tying the closing of monuments in Washington due to the government shut down to Obama’s alleged Marxist revolution and they’re going to start shooting people and millions will be killed. Seriously, he said that.
