To no one’s surprise, it turns out that Dennis Kruse, the Indiana state senator who has tried several times to get creationism into public school science classrooms, is also a raving paranoid who thinks the UN is going to take over the country through that spooky Agenda 21.
There have been many movies, all of them terrible, with the plot of two people magically changing places (parent and child, a man and a woman, a black man and a white man, etc). The religious right seems to be repeating that plot in their absurd claims to be the victims of their own past behavior, now perpetrated by liberals.
The Pentagon blocks many LGBT sites on its computer network, which uses filter software called Blue Coat. It’s not because the sites are pornographic or anything like that; the sites being blocked include Pam Spaulding’s blog and many others like that. Here’s the Pentagon’s absurd rationalization:

I’m sure you’ll be shocked to know that the article actually includes no police and no ban on any “illegal” language. It’s just a campaign at the University of Maryland to encourage — yes, encourage — people to stop using insensitive language.
A ridiculous chain email from a Tea Party nut claiming that the Irving School District in Texas was “indoctrinating children with Islam” led the school board to ask for a full investigation of the curriculum. The investigator found that the school was actually promoting Christianity, not Islam.
The right wing, apparently thinking that Bob Costas is an important policy maker in Congress, is queuing up a new round of fear-mongering predictions. Obama’s going to take away your guns, probably with the help of the UN and the ghost of Saul Alinsky, using George Soros’ time machine. Wayne LaPierre of the NRA spun this lurid tale to Glenn Beck’s site:

They actually listen to every Glenn Beck and Bryan Fischer show too, which surely must place them in line for some sort of medal. Most of you have probably seen Glenn Beck quoting his favorite thinker, W. Cleon Skousen, a far right nut who never saw a bizarre conspiracy he didn’t like.
