From a Newsweek story about Roger Ailes and Fox News, in which Ailes said that Bill O’Reilly was scared by Glenn Beck:

O’Reilly, who chatted up Obama during this year’s Super Bowl, occasionally defends the president against harsh attacks. Ailes says O’Reilly has “moderated” his views and that “Beck scared him”—meaning Beck was so popular on the right that O’Reilly had to find a different niche…

He waves off any talk of moderation and insists he never worried about the now-departed Beck: “He’s a performer, I’m a journalist.”

That’s the actual headline on the latest bit of stupid from Roger Hedgecock and the Worldnutdaily. It begins with this:

My uncle once told me in a low voice, “Never let them take you to a hospital. You’ll never come out.” In his 90s and near death, he was rushed to a hospital and died. Now comes a study documenting that hospital privacy curtains are full of bacteria, including the antibiotic resistant strains. Hospitals full of sick people are where the germs are.

Woohoo, it’s more wingnut-on-wingnut crime! A Christian radio station in Texas has dropped David Barton’s daily radio show from its lineup because Barton has been defending Glenn Beck, who is Mormon, as a Christian.

An affiliate radio station of the Moody Network in East Texas, KBJS-FM canceled David Barton’s Wallbuilders Live radio program during the show yesterday while Barton was discussing Glenn Beck’s religious beliefs. Randy Featherstone, KBJS manager, said the show was dropped due to Barton’s failure to distinguish between Mormon theology and Christianity.

“When David Barton said it doesn’t matter whether you are a Mormon or a Baptist or a Methodist, we felt we had to do something,” Featherstone explained.

As you no doubt noticed, we have done a fairly significant redesign on the site. We went from a three column layout to a two column layout and incorporated many of the aesthetic changes that PZ had made to his blog network-wide. I think it looks much better and I hope you all do too. You’ll notice that the most recent posts, most recent comments and most active posts are now in a tabbed box on the right sidebar, which reduces the clutter a bit. There are still a few tweaks to be made on the new design and some new functionality on the way as well. You should soon have the ability to sign in for comments using your logins from Facebook, Twitter and other places.

We also have an outside company handling our advertising now. Hopefully the ad targeting will improve — I don’t think many of you are going to click on ads for Christian dating sites, Glenn Beck pimping gold or Liberty University. Can’t say I blame you either.

One of the big names in evangelism is attacking David Barton, John Hagee and the Trinity Broadcasting Network for their support of Glenn Beck.

Bill Keller, leader of the world’s largest interactive Christian website for 12 years, Liveprayer.com, with over 2.4 million subscribers worldwide reading his Daily Devotional, is calling for a boycott of Christian TV network TBN, along with Pastor John Hagee and David Barton, for supporting the efforts a Mormon cult member Glenn Beck in his latest SCAM on the Christian community.

Beck, a member of the satanic Mormon cult, is currently in Israel holding several public events under the guise of “standing with Israel,” when in fact these are simply huge money making opportunities for his media business by conning people, mostly Christians, into sending him donations, buying merchandise, and subscriptions to his new “GBTV” webcasts that became necessary after he was forced off FOX news.

Gil Dodgen over at Dembski’s Home for Wayward Sycophants says that one of the main influences in his conversion from an “obnoxious, nasty, self-aggrandizing, pathetically prideful atheist” to an obnoxious, nasty, self-aggrandizing, pathetically prideful Christian was Dennis Prager. And he highly recommends Prager University, Prager’s sad attempt to become the next Glenn Beck.

Let’s recall some of Prager’s truly ridiculous arguments, shall we? Like in 2006, when Prager argued that Keith Ellison should not be allowed to swear his oath of office with his hand on the Quran:

The more that comes out on Michele Bachmann, the more of a total loon she looks to be. Mother Jones found a 2002 video that she made about the dangers of education reform that offers this basic argument:

Education reform efforts —-> national curriculum control —-> Nazism, totalitarianism, communism and another Holocaust.

And the video is called Guinea Pig Kids II. Seriously. Wasn’t that a bad 80s movie starring Corey Haim?

From Glenn Beck:

As the thing started to unfold, and then there was a shooting at a political camp, which sounds a little like, you know, the Hitler Youth or whatever — I mean, who does a camp for kids that’s all about politics? Disturbing.

You mean like your pals in the Tea Party movement, who’ve started summer camps for kids that focus on politics in (at least) Florida, North Carolina and Michigan? How disturbing.

From Meghan McCain, responding to Glenn Beck after he said the thought of her naked made him want to vomit when he say a PSA she did for skin cancer where she was naked down to about her freaking collarbone:

As a person known for his hot body, you must find it easy to judge the weight fluctuations of others, especially young women.

You’re a full-grown man with teenage daughters who are probably dealing with the sexist, body-obsessed media environment that is difficult for all women. Is this really the legacy you want to be leaving for yourself?

As a person who is known for his hot body, you must find it easy to judge the weight fluctuations of others, especially young women. If any of your daughters are ever faced with some kind of criticism of their physical appearance or weight, they should call me, because women’s body image is another issue I feel passionate about, and have become accustomed to dealing with and speaking with young women about on my college tours.
