Five Year Old runs 6.5 miles in 7 hours!

This is good news although an isolated incident.. but it is something great coming from a Five year old!! Hopefully, Buddhia will grow up to represent India in Olympics?

Five-year-old Buddhia Singh, hailed as a marathon prodigy from Orissa, entered the Limca Book of Records by covering a distance of 65 km in a time of 7.02 hours.

Singh, who began the run from the Sri Jagannath Temple at Puri, reached here accompanied by CRPF jawans.

Though he was supposed to complete a distance of 70 km, an exhausted Buddhia slumped about five km from his destination, the CRPF group centre here.

He was picked up in a jeep and taken to the CRPF centre for attention. His health was being examined.

”He has successfully completed a distance of 65 km in 7.02 hors. His name will figure in the 2007 edition of the Limca Book of records,” Amreen Toor, Assistant Editor of the Limca Book of Records, said.

Though the wonder-kid has traversed the distance between Puri and Bhubaneswar several times in the past, today’s run was sponsored by the CRPF, which had expressed its intention to adopt the child.
