Paris Hilton as Mother Teresa

Since we are past the first of April, this must be taken seriously. Malayalam film-maker T Rajeevnath, who won the National Film Award for Janani in 1988, has shortlisted Paris Hilton to play the role of the ‘Saint of the Gutters’ in a film scheduled to begin filming in 2007.

He will travel to the US from Asia armed with photos of the American socialite that have been altered to make her look like the saintly nun, who died in 1997.

He said, "The pictures will be my strength when I speak to Paris. She has expressed delight that I have short-listed her to play the role. This will make our meeting easier.". He was apparently impressed when he read that Paris had refused to pose nude in Playboy magazine and decided then to shortlist her.

His most recent film was Moksham, which dealt with matters of salvation and terrorism. He is currently making a documentary on the Indian diaspora in the United States, which features interviews with Salman Rushdie, M Night Shyamalan, and Condoleeza Rice, among others.
