What was happening in India and the Rest of the World at the time of Mahabharat and Ramayan

There has been a concerted effort since the times of British to discredit India’s history and to brush it aside.  The scriptures which are historic in nature in many ways had been painted as “mythology.  But when you look at the evidence and evaluate the “stories” and the narratives, what comes out is very interesting.  Here is one take on it:
