There is something special about this President – APJ Abdul Kalam… He has very limited powers and yet, he somehow uses them to the fullest possible when required! Although both, Dr. Singh and Prez Kalam have the reputation of being honest.. I would rate our Prez higher in terms of his guts to deal with the situations he comes across given the hand he has been dealt with! Here he is making sure that if he cannot block the confirmation of this dishonest and corrupt judge from joining the high Court.. at least he can make it real tough!
President A P J Abdul Kalam has returned the recommendation for appointment of Justice S L Bhayana, who had controversially acquitted all the accused in the Jessica Lal murder case, as a permanent judge of the Delhi high court.
"The President has returned the file with a query in the context of the recent Delhi high court judgment in the Jessica Lal case," Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman S M Khan said on Tuesday.
