Ransom Rumblings

I spoke too soon a few weeks ago when I said “I’d never pay for a professional picture because they can never get shots as good as I can.”  What was that about pride coming before a fall?  His pre-school shot that a professional took is ADORABLE.  I love it.

 “Does God play?”  Ransom asked my mother’n’law, Sara the other day.  To which she replied, “yes.”  “Well, then where is he”? Ransom wanted to know.  Sara explained that God is always with us, but he’s invisible.  He’s asked me about this again wanting to know why we can’t see God.  I love that he’s asking spiritual questions.

The other day Ran asked me for about the 5th time if he can a little brother to play with.  Knowing that were working on that all ready & I said -sort of off-handedly- that he should pray to Jesus & ask him to give him a little bro. Then last night at McDonalds I asked him to pray for the food & he said, “Jesus. (pause) would you just give me a little brother peez!”

Last night he also asked why daddy had to work while we were at ‘Donald’s house.’  Then he asked if he could go to work with daddy, and I told him he was too little.  He then looked down at his feet and said, “but my feet are big, and my head is big, and my knees are big, and my nose is big, and my eyes are big…” I actually didn’t expect him to finish the thought… until he finally he said in a demanding way, “so i want to work, mama!”  

Despite all his emotional meltdowns lately I’ve been really enjoying my little man’s thoughtfulness & desire to figure out his world.  Everyday he asks me why Chick Hicks was mean to McQueen & King in the Cars movie.  Mean-ness just doesn’t make sense, even to a 3 year old.  There’s a lesson, huh?
