Ransom Rumblings…

Ransom Rumblings… February 11, 2009

just call me "Ransom Big Boy Biskie"

Ran has been saying the cutest things lately…

GB: Ran, you are my little sweet punkin’

RB: I am NOT a punkin’ I am a BIG boy!  Daddy is a man, and you are wuh-bin. (Woman)

GB: When I call you a punkin, I am using it as a term of endearment –it means I love you.

RB: But I don’t want a team of endewments, I am Ransom big boy Biskie!

Later…

GB: Hey, my little punkin, i love you

RB: while giving me a hug… i love you too, mama, you are my little race cow. (race car)

Another time…

GB: (playing with his hair)

RB: Mama, what are you doing to my hair?  GB: just playing with it.

RB: Mama, my hair is not a toy!

Yesterday morning…

RB finds a sucker & for the 1st time in his life begins licking away at a red tootsie blow pop.  Within 3 licks he says, “mmm, mmm, mmm this suckah (sucker) is making me very happy!”

A few nights ago…

Ran & his daddy were reading the story in his children’s Bible about Jesus turning water into wine, and they closed with a prayer.  Ransom said, “Jesus, will you make my milk to never run out like you did with the wine?”

In another instance…

GB: Ran, it’s time to go to bed in a little while…(and then I give him a 2 minute warning)

RB: Puts his finger to his chin, looks up like he’s thinking & says, “I’ll make a deal with you.  Can I have 3 mid-dits (minutes)?

GB: ??? Where did you learn to make a deal?

RB: I dunno.  But, can I have 3 more mid-dits to play?

On discipline as of late…

When Ran has been throwing temper tantrums big or small we tell him he can tell us with his words what he’s feeling or he can go to his room to whine & cry until he’s ready to come out & talk about it.  On several occasions this scenario has played out:

RB:  Can’t get his way, starts throwing a fit.

GB:  How do you feel?

RB: Stops crying long enough to say, “i just want to whine & cry!”

GB: Okay go to your room until your ready to talk to Mama about it.

RB: mmpphhh (with a snarky little attitude) & stomps off.

GB: after a few minutes he’s quiet & I go in to ask him if he wants to come out.

RB: NO!  I just want to whine & cry!  And then he goes back to whining & crying.

It’s hilarious actually.  Then he’ll come out cheery & freshfaced & say… “okay, can we play now, i don’t really feel like talking.”

The kids crackin’ me up lately.
