The other day I was inspired by John Mayer’s 6-word memoir: “this heart didn’t come with instructions.” (via twitter – yes, I follow his tweets:)
My fave 6-word memoir ever is: “born black. married white. died human.” -author unknown
other notable funny ones:
-even public restrooms rejected my poems
-my soulmate has whiskers and paws
-sperm too potent, now have triplets
-never really finished anything… except cake
-well I thought it was funny – Stephen Colbert
-catholic school backfired! Sin is in!
-the psychic said I’d be richer
just google “6-word memoir” & you’ll find a host of laugh-out-loud, sad & striking 6-word memoirs.
So, Dave & I got to thinking about ours together. My uber-creative husband came up with his in less than 10 minutes. And if you know him, you will know this is perfect:
“I meant to get to that.”
Here was my first go at it: “conficted by race, living by grace.”
So go ahead, give it a shot & let me know what you come up with…
