Rhys Peace

Our little Reesey Bear has intermediate jaundice. 🙁  It’s not serious and were taking steps to get him all better but in the meantime, our little man is “suffering” from extreme fatigue.  He’s been asleep since Tuesday.  He sleeps while he eats.  He’ll have his eyes open for 3 minutes and as you talk to him they’ll droop shut as if it say, “this world is just too much for me.”

Of course the nice thing for me is that I feel much more rested than I did about 5 days in when Ransom was born.  Ransom ate every 2 hours without fail for at least two weeks.  Our little Reesey Bear has to be woken up at hour 3, hour 4, hour 5 & even last night he went 6 hours!  The poor little guy is down to 8 pounds now.  No more big baby for me.

This is where sleeping beauty spends most of his day...in his crib. :)

I have a feeling once his jaundice has passed and he’s acting like more of a “normal” newborn things will feel a bit different for me.  But for now, I’m amazed.  Our house is clean, my husband is cooking all the meals that we froze and is taking care of Ransom’s every need.  I’ve been able to rest and recover physically.  Breastfeeding has been a bit of a challenge, but more on that later. ay ay ay.

Preparing to bring Rhys home felt like prepping for a hurricane but we both feel shockingly rested, peaceful, organized and really happy.  This compared to what felt like shambles when Ransom first entered our lives.

It’s been good to learn from past mistakes.

My little Rhys brings peace.
