For the past couple of months I’ve been wondering if I should keep on blogging. Like most things, it takes me a long time to get a post done. I find myself thinking about or planning for my blog a little too often and I wonder if I’m getting sick of it. (Hypocrisy!)
I started blogging in on April 25, 2006. Here is my first spectacular post. (Please note the sarcasm). Since then I’ve moved my blog around from myspace, to facebook to gracebiskie.com & have finally found my home here on WordPress. I have posted a whopping 976 posts & had over 100,000 views! (Man, I wish I had started here!) I’ve blogged on every topic under the sun. 976 posts – that is a crazy number!
From what others tell me: I have given some hope, some encouragement, some solid challenges and I have made some angry & some annoyed. Either way, I have regularly enjoyed sharing a fraction of my life. Sometimes, maybe that fraction was a little too big. 🙂
But, now I’m struggling to find my blogging voice. I’d like to have more of a targeted audience but I’m wary of alienating some people. (I.E. a blog just for women, or only about my faith, etc.) I wonder if my scatterbrained approach to blogging is working for you (or me for that matter). Yet, I’m hesitant to make too many changes too quick. Though, after 3 months of thinking about it I still haven’t changed my blog tagline yet — my inspiration hasn’t hit yet. Sue me.
Has this extrovert finally run out of things to say? Probably not, but it sure feels that way. I’m trying to keep in mind that I’m tired. And honestly, I’ve been barefoot, pregnant & tired all year. Now, I’m in this super intense phase of caring for a newborn less than a month old. That has to have something to do with the fact that my brain can’t keep coming up with new, exciting & engaging content day after day after day.
My friend Andrea suggested that instead of just throwing in the towel why not post once or twice a week instead of daily. I’m considering it. 🙁
I’ll keep ya posted. (pun intended) 🙂 If you have got ideas or an opinion, please share it…
