Ransom’s Lil Rhys-Car

Dave & I are still pretty torn about that small issue of naming our son who will be born in 6 weeks or less.  We have made some progress in determining that the name “Reese,” is probably the only one we both like except I want to spell it “Rhys,” & he wants to spell it “Reece.”  Such a seemingly small detail, yet it keeps us from being able to make a final decision which happens to be driving me bezerk.

In any case, no matter how you spell it, “Rhys” has been a hot topic both around the dinner table & in conversation with others.  Because of that Ransom will often ask, “are we going to name our baby, Wees?” (He has trouble with the “R” sound).

Yesterday Ransom told me he wanted to name my car “Wace Cow” ( “Race Car,”) to which I agreed but asked him this:

G: Would you rather name my car, Race Car or name the new baby Race Car?

R: (After a hearty laugh), “That’s so silly, Mama, you can’t name a baby “Wace Cow”( Race Car))!  Oh! Oh! I have an idea!  What if we name our baby Weese-Cow (Rhys-Car)?

G: I love it!

Dave & I found this whole conversation to be so adorable that if we do name the baby Rhys/Reece/Reese, his nick-name will officially be “Lil’ Rhys-Car.”
