I did it!

I did it!

I’m happy to report that I cleaned out Ransom’s room, made room for lil’ bean, sorted through the 0-3 mo. clothes, washed, folded & put them away into a new organizational system. Wohoo!  I ended up getting *Itso* brand plastic crates with a few plastic tubs & a few fabric bins.  It was quite cost effective & cuter I think then the used $35 dresser I was going to buy off someone from Craigslist.  So, what do you think?  They come apart easily & can be reconfigured in all sorts of ways.  I.E. I can move the shelves, or add doors, or get different size plastic tubs –even a flat dividing organizer tray.  I feel like I found a gem!

I wanted all blue bins but my particular Target ran out & seriously I couldn’t be bothered to be driving around looking for blue crates.

I even labeled them!

The room came together quite nicely.  All I had to take out was Ransom’s giant toy box, which we’ll set up in the basement with some other toys for a more spacious playroom.  I’m still waiting for Dave to build Ran’s wooden headboard big boy bed but until then he’s loving sleeping on the floor.

can hardly believe it was time to put the changing pad back on top the dresser!

One sad thing is that of all the 4 animals on the carpet, only the elephant shows on the wall.  The croc is behind the dresser, the turtle behind the crib & the zebra behind the diaper pale!  Of course the bird is very visible -above the window- but not finished painting it.  O.k. so yes I started it when I was 6 months pregnant with Ransom & yes that was officially 4 years ago.  However, I’m proud that my giant giraffe & tree shows! 🙂

also waiting for Dave to raise the crib back up by 3 levels & we still need a mattress, pee-cover, pad & extra sheets

All in all, I’m really happy I took the time to do this.  The “nesting” bug inside a preggo women really is insatiable until you do something about it.  Last but not least, my favorite wall of his room: the giant color blocks.  An idea my friend Jodi gave me, which I love. (Both Jodi & the wall) 🙂

Isn't it darling? I just love it.

Okay, so the rest of the house is in a bit of shambles, but I got this done!  My next cleaning & organizing task is my side of the office.  I’ll do before & after pics as I’m sure this is one transformation you will be amazed at! 🙂
