Basically this guy was terrorized, isolated (with no outsiders to provide unwanted scrutiny of his case), humiliated, hurt, lied to, shipped to Syria despite his pleas that he would be tortured there, then tortured–a lot.

And who sent him to Syria? Let’s just say it was your tax dollars at work.

I’ll be calling as soon as I get a chance, probably tomorrow. I don’t assume I know exactly what happened–I just know that somebody needs to be looking into this, and hard. We should not be in the business of outsourcing torture.
