WE LIKE ALL KINDS OF MUSIC. But I like American music best, baby. Anyway–more stuff about Allan Bloom and rock’n’roll, here and here. I got a good challenging email on this subject, so I’ll return to the fray, maybe Monday. I’ll also post about DC “statehood”/dependence/blah blah blah, the topic that leads smart classical-liberal-type bloggers to say dumb managerial-imperialist things. (Except The Agitator, who is Making Sense.) I’d do that today, but apparently the Internet, and/or this computer, has a vendetta against me and my whole family. Grar.

For the moment: “Statehood” is a muddlebrained fantasy, and even its supporters know that (I used to be one), but the managerial democracy supported by InstaPundit and Matthew Yglesias is paternalistic, self-defeating, and lame. This sweeping statement to be defended later! Off to snuffle up some of the best ice cream in the greater D.C. area….
